Yoga

“Yoga is not about self-improvement,
it’s about self-acceptance.”
[Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa]

“What are the benefits of a private yoga session?”

Great question!  Private yoga sessions – similarly to therapy sessions – can be tailored to fit your needs. A
private session offers you specific help among the 8 Limbs of Yoga Philosophy, and can provide additional information or movement that supports your mental health.

POSSIBLE AREAS OF FOCUS

  • Exploring Mindfulness tools (e.g. meditation and breath work)
  • Exploring ways to gently move your body that may possibly connect to your emotions
  • Exploring how your emotions may possibly connect to certain areas/movements of your body
  • Building awareness of Interoception (awareness of sensations/feelings in your body; an element within the modality of trauma-sensitive yoga)

TCTSY [Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga] is a methodology empirically developed to complement the treatment of complex trauma. The practice can be brought into yoga and/or therapy sessions as individuals are interested. To learn more about the model, you can visit here.
