Therapy

providing therapy virtually (PA & NJ) as well as in-person in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania.

WHY THERAPY?

I believe in the power of self-talk, as it shapes greatly our presence in the world.

Early on, due to caregiver attachment and peer relationships, we generate stories of ourselves. These narratives build a frame around self-worth, how we connect to others, cope with conflict. In times of disruption, it can be hard to understand their impact.

By working with a therapist, you can increase awareness to your own patterns, identify hopes or desired changes. You can move beyond insight into action, and toward peace.

A SHARED APPROACH
Sessions are intended for collaboration.

You are the expert of your own life. Part of my role as a therapist is to support the humanness of who you are by modeling compassion, and providing space for all parts of you to be held without judgment. We’ll consider external forces (e.g. family history, society & culture) that influence your personal story.

And there are possibilities to incorporate body-based & mindfulness strategies like Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, Brainspotting, & Polyvagal theory. Holistic resources allow attunement to internal sensations or emotions, and help you get to know – or even befriend – your nervous system.

WHO I SERVE
I work with adults
& couples.

Most folks I see struggle with anxiety or stress, and wish to create a better balance among life’s many transitions. Living with uncertainty is one possible concept we explore together. Other clients I work with are navigating effects of trauma (including nervous system dysregulation or relationship discord). As a parent myself, I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with caregivers of all stages.

RELATIONSHIP SUPPORT
Couples counseling can strengthen your unique and shared dreams.

Taking time to extend curiosity in daily life isn’t easy. Use of intentional and mindful communication allows each person to feel seen, heard, and appreciated. As relationships evolve (cohabitation, marriage, child-rearing, retirement, etc), individual goals will likely change, and so must those of the system.

If you are feeling stuck or unsure – I hope that you will join me.  You are not alone.
