Reiki

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is an energy healing technique that treats a variety of soulful, physiological and emotional experiences. It includes light touch or a hands-off approach that helps facilitate one’s inherent flow of universal life force (known also as prana or chi/qi). I also use crystals in the session when folks are interested.

HOW DOES IT HELP?

Like with other therapeutic modalities, I find the answer to this question exists within the receiver. As a practitioner, I hold space and aim to facilitate the natural healing forces within and around you. Adjacent to particular worries, frustrations, or medical issues, you might choose to receive Reiki for relaxation, balancing stress, or simply out of curiosity. There are many paths.

Setting an intention for session can be invaluable. What do you seek? What would be useful? Can I be here now, with an open mind? Perhaps you think of such questions prior to our time together, or you can consider them at the time of appointment. (Intentions are shared with me only if you prefer).

WHAT DO I NEED FOR SESSION?

Simply yourself. You are invited to wear comfortable clothing, and arrive nourished and hydrated. You may choose to bring pen/paper to write notes down from your session. We will discuss how you want to physically set things up — sitting on a couch or in a chair, lying on a massage table. We’ll explore levels of comfort with blankets, brightness of the space, and temperature for you to feel most settled. I will continue to consent for touch & sound (music). Some folks talk during session, and others do not. It can be different every time!

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER REIKI?

You might have guessed that I will say there are several possibilities! Some report feeling more at ease, getting improved sleep, feeling a lightness in spirit. Others may notice additional energies or subtleties in the room. I will bring you some water to drink, and you can slowly depart — hopefully in a more integrated, embodied way.
